INTRODUCTION •
Information and communication technologies have also affected the performance of Library chores, ranging from collection management to circulation. New software
programes have been developed to cater for the needs arising from these developments. Librarians therefore require knowing about these developments as well as acquiring the necessary skills to manage library resources. While LIC’s in many developed countries have succeeded in mainstreaming information technologies in their library systems, developing countries are yet to adequately impart requisite information technology skills into their LIC staff.
